Emmanuel A. Leyco

Professor Emmanuel Leyco is the President and Chief Economist of CRISP. He is a management educator and practitioner with decades of experience in teaching, consultancy, and senior executive roles in both the private and public sectors. Prof. Leyco has retired as a tenured faculty member at the Asian Institute of Management, where he taught courses in public finance, economics, and public policy for over 25 years. He started his teaching career at Long Island University in New York, where he taught a graduate course in public policy as an adjunct faculty member.

In the public sector, Prof. Leyco served as the 10th University President of the University of the City of Manila and was an Undersecretary for Finance and Administration at the Department of Social Welfare and Development, where he also served as Officer in Charge of the Office of the Secretary.

Prof. Leyco obtained his master’s degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government (MPA Public Finance/International Economics) and attended the Harvard Kennedy School Summer Program for Public Administrators in 1989.  He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. He obtained his undergraduate degree from De La Salle University (Bachelor of Arts, Behavioral Sciences; Coursework in Management of Financial Institutions).
